Featured Etsy Blogger: Rose Works Jewelry

Being the huge geek that I am, combined with my love for video game crafts, this awesome Legend of Zelda Link beaded bracelet caught my eye. This bracelet has been created by January's Featured Etsy Blogger, Rose Works Jewelry.

Rose Works Jewelry is Ruthie, a jewelry artist from Vancouver, WA. She creates all of these wonderful handmade jewelry pieces for her Etsy Shop. She uses a variety of materials to create her jewelry, including delicate glass beads for her elegant bead jewelry pieces. You can find all sorts of wearable art here: earrings, necklaces, and bracelets in a variety of styles for any mood or occasion, so I'm sure you can find something that is suited to your personal taste! Anything from this shop would be wonderful to give as a gift to a loved one, and is a great way to support handmade!

You can also find Rose Works Jewelry online at her blog and at her second Etsy Shop, Kindred Spirit Treasures - creations by Ruthie and her mom, Patty.

Blog Carnival: Valentine's Day

This week's Etsy Bloggers blog carnival is all about Valentine's Day, so I thought that I would write about my very favorite restaurant. What does this have to do with Valentine's Day, you might ask? Well, for past Valentine's Days, my fiance and I have decided to treat ourselves to a wonderful dinner at our favorite restaurant, Samura, and it never disappoints. Samura is a sushi restaurant in Cambridge, Ontario (I apologize for the picture above - the best photo I could find of the restaurant online as they don't seem to have a website!)

Since we are both vegetarians and don't eat fish, it might seem strange that we are both in love with a sushi restaurant; however, there are always plenty of things for us to choose from as the menu is huge! We generally get our favorites: vegetable gyoza, yaki soba, tofu teriyaki, kappa maki (cucumber rolls), vegetable maki, yam tempura, yam tempura sushi rolls, edamame, plus more. Their desserts are also delicious - be sure to try the red bean cake with vanilla ice cream!

The staff are always polite and friendly, and the food always arrives super quickly! They also offer an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, in which you order from a select menu, and everything is made to order fresh.

Nothing says Valentine's Day better than spending a lovely evening at your favorite restaurant, so I'm sure that we will be spending this Valentine's evening there as well!

Extra Long Fingerless Gloves / Armwarmers

Yay - super long fingerless gloves! These super comfy gloves that will keep your entire arm toasty warm! Completely knit and handcrafted by myself, you are free to move your fingers around while wearing these gloves, making them ideal for typing, driving, or tons of other situations.

The gloves have an elegant vine cable stitch pattern that travels up your whole arm, and has a rib stitch around the other 2/3rds of the glove, making them stretchy and one-size-fits-all.
